1957 Topps Complete Set + 1956 Mickey Mantle PSA 8 Set Break LIVE NOW!
I am thrilled to announce that our first break of 2025, and boy is it a BIG ONE!
The 1957 Topps Set was a HUGE step forward in baseball card industry when it was released. Prior to 1957, Topps had never done original photography in its sets like Bowman had done in 1953 and 1954.
This set is LOADED with Hall of Famers - a total of 39 Hall of Famers were included in it making it one of the most fun and exciting sets to collect. Aside from the all time legends like Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Hank Aaron, the set also featured rookie cards of Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, and Don Drysdale.
This specific set we are breaking is also special in that the majority of the cards are in EXCELLENT condition, with a total of 46 graded cards ranging in condition mostly in PSA and SGC 1-6 grade, and many of the raw cards in EX-Mint condition.
Not only do I have all of the Hall of Famers graded in this set, but I also have the 1957 Brooks Robinson Card in this break AUTOGRAPHED in a PSA DNA 2/ 10 SLAB!
But this break is not just about the iconic 1957 Set…
It also includes a GRAND PRIZE card of one of the greatest baseball cards ever made - the 1956 Mickey Mantle Card in a PSA 8 Grade!
This card sold last year several times, with the highest sale surpassing $20,000!
How the Break Works:
Every single spot you purchase guarantees you a card at RANDOM from the 1957 Topps Set or the 1956 Topps PSA 8 Mantle. There are 408 total spots in this break, for the 407 cards from the set plus the Mantle card.
Once all spots have been purchased, we do a LIVE stream and use a randomizer tool that randomly assigns each spots purchased to a number between 1-408. The number you receive correlates to the # card in the set, the 1956 Mantle Card will be #408.
The results will be broadcasted LIVE on YouTube and TikTok, as well as emailed here and posted on our Facebook group.
I plan on doing giveaways as well for people that sign up early for the break, so be sure to buy your spots if you know your’e gonna be in on this one!
Pricing for the Break:
This is also a monumental break for the Bonkers Cards Channel, as it marks our first break that is being offered at a 10% discount for those that choose to join the Bonkers Cards Club!
I have a break down of the spot pricing for this break, including the pricing for members of the Bonkers Cards club:

Aaron Judge Named Cover Athlete for Topps Series 1
In case you missed it, Fanatics announced that Yankees Star and AL MVP Aaron Judge will be the face of this year’s Topps Series 1 product.
I absolutely love what Fanatics has done with this promotion over the last few years. They have adopted the “Madden-model”, making it an event for who is on the cover of the product each year. (As a Yanks fan, love to see Judge getting some love.)
This is just another play in Fanatics’ strategy trying to draw more sports fans into the hobby who don’t currently collect, and bring them into the hobby. I am hopeful that we will see some more advertising for sports cards and Fanatics in the upcoming super-bowl ad season, my guess is that they have something big given CEO Michael Rubin’s connections and celebrity circles.
My latest Bonkers Cards Club Post - What I would do with $10k to invest:
This was a fun blog to write, and marked the first post that was written as bonus content for the Bonkers Cards Club.
In it, I talk about what I would do if tasked with building a sports card portfolio with $10,000 and my rationale for how to go about buying the cards.
I also give my list of the Top 20 Vintage Players to buy, as well as show off some of my favorite cards from my collection that I believe have great investment potential.
I plan on writing more investment focused posts like this for community members in the future - You can read that blog and all my deep-dive posts by joining the Bonkers Cards Club here: https://bonkerscards.substack.com/subscribe
First Bonkers Cards Club Meeting on January 15th!
And speaking of the Bonkers Cards Club, we will be holding our first club meeting on Wednesday January 15th at 8:00PM est!
My plan is to make these club meetings the second Wednesday of each month, and allow for us to all get on ZOOM and meet each other face to face.
The agenda for the meetings will be to talk about upcoming card shows were going to, sets were building, news in the hobby, what we’re collecting, and any exciting updates coming to the Bonkers Cards channel.
My goal is for this club to continue to grow in numbers and size, so that we can also begin to plan IN-PERSON events as well.
I plan on attending all of the big major national-level shows throughout the year, and would love to get the club big enough to get an-in person meet-up event before one of the big shows like the National. Whether it’s just reserving a restaurant space, or eventually hoping to tee-it-up at a Bonkers Cards Golf Outing, I see the future of the Bonkers Cards Club as a social club that brings the common connection of cardboard to meaningful friendships and experiences.
I will be sending the ZOOM information out for our first meeting later this weekend, and if you’d like to attend and join the club, you can subscribe to the club here!
The Diamond King Movie premiers at the Palm Springs International Film Festival!
This week Director Marq Evans of the film “The Diamond King” and HOF Artist Dick Perez, who stars in the documentary film, were in Palm Springs California for the Palm Springs International Film Festival, one of the world’s biggest stages for the film industry. I’ve had the pleasure of working as the film’s social media manager, and Marq shared some pictures of the event with me that I shared on the Diamond King instagram page:
The film is set to release in the coming months, direct to consumer and I will be reporting more on how you can watch it as it comes closer to release day!
Congrats again to Marq, Dick, and the whole Diamond King Movie team. I watched the film at the National this past summer and absolutely loved it, and if you are a baseball history fan, I know you will enjoy it too!
